INEC, Ondo State Engages Stakeholders as Phase One of Continuous Voter Registration (CVR), Draws to a Close

The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Ondo State, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Babalola, today held strategic engagements with key stakeholders—the Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and the Inter‑Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) on Tuesday 9th December, 2025 to review the progress of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise and reaffirm the Commission’s commitment to an inclusive and transparent electoral process.

Addressing the stakeholders, the REC reiterated that the first phase of the CVR, which commenced on 25 th August  2025, will formally conclude on 10th December , 2025. She presented a detailed update on registration figures as of 8th December 2025, noting that INEC in Ondo State recorded:

– 18,045 new registrations
– 9,290 transfers
– 2,353 corrections
– 3,725 cases of lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs)

In addition, 1,838 old PVCs were collected during the same period.

Mrs. Babalola commended CSOs for their contributions to voter sensitisation, mobilisation and public enlightenment, emphasising that their efforts have significantly expanded civic awareness and strengthened democratic participation across the state.

In a subsequent meeting with members of IPAC, the REC reaffirmed INEC’s commitment to sustaining robust engagement with political actors to ensure that elections in Ondo State become more credible, free, fair and inclusive.

During the engagements, Mrs. Kemi Philip‑Ajila, Head of the ICT/Voter Registration Department, informed stakeholders that the *Preliminary Register of Voters (PRV)* will be displayed from 15th to 21st December,  2025 in all the 18 INEC Local Government Area offices across Ondo State. She explained that the display period will allow registered voters to make claims, raise objections and verify their details ahead of subsequent electoral activities.

According to the Hon. REC, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Babalola, these engagements reaffirm INEC Ondo State’s unwavering dedication to transparency, stakeholder collaboration and the seamless implementation of the CVR exercise as preparations intensify for upcoming elections in the state.
