The Embassy of Indonesia in Nigeria gathered the Diplomatic members in Abuja, Nigeria to the Eid Mubarak on Saturday.

Addressing journalists during the event, the Ambassador of Indonesia to Nigeria, His Excellency Dr H. Usra Hendra Harahap said it is a kind of diplomacy to bring notable guests together to share happiness during the Eid Mubarak.

According to the ambassador, “We invite fellow diplomats and friends here to share our happiness during Ramadan. Many also come from the Fulani village, and also many other people come here too we’d like to make them happy. To sell happiness is kind of mandatory as a Muslim to share our happiness to everybody.

“So we also invite some unfortunate person also to share our happiness. And today, I try to transform our Indonesian tradition during the Eid al-Fitr,  as you know in our tradition during this celebration all the people appreciate each other. The younger visits the older people while some of the people will set an open house like now without open house to make visitations simple.

“We invite people here do not care if the guest is a Muslim or not as far as we are here to stay together and make some prescription that’s in a different nation, different region. Religion is not to make us separate but to bring solidarity. We have to make the solidity and keep ourselves together. It can be different cities, different nations different religion, it doesn’t matter as human being we should keep ourselves together and make onward peace.

Speaking also, the Egyptian Ambassador to Nigeria commended H. E. Usra for celebrating the Sallah with guests.

“Well, first of all, of course it is very kind gesture from the ambassador of Indonesia to invite the diplomatic corps to celebrate salah. And this becomes also all the more important since over the past couple of years during the COVID period you know the the project committee was deprived from this privilege of coming together to celebrate Salah as you can see from the participating ambassadors and members of the diplomatic community.

“This is not only about the Muslim diplomatic community or the ambassadors representing Muslim countries, it cuts across all faiths and different countries from the north and the south coming together to celebrate Salah together with the Muslim diplomatic community.

“So the significance of this is actually a show of solidarity. A show of cultural affinity that cuts across the religious or cultural frontlines that we see nowadays in our world. So what you see here today is a very positive and very engaging feeling the depth of unity of the of the world, represented by the diplomatic community here in Nigeria. Thank you so much”, he said.
