Independence Anniversary: Nigeria Felicitates with Republic of Congo

The Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, has extended his congratulations to His Excellency Jean-Claude Gakosso, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Congolese Abroad of the Republic of the Congo, as the nation marks its Independence Anniversary.
In a press release signed by Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa,
Spokesperson, Ministry of Foreign Affairs at Abuja on Friday 15, August, 2025, Tuggar stated,
“This anniversary is a proud symbol of the determination, unity, and resilience of the Congolese people in their journey towards sovereignty and national development. As Nigeria joins in celebrating this historic milestone, we reaffirm our shared commitment to peace, mutual respect, and the enduring bonds of African brotherhood.”
He disclosed that Nigeria and the Republic of the Congo have maintained warm and cooperative relations, strengthened by collaboration in trade, cultural exchange, maritime affairs, and regional peace initiatives.
“On this special occasion, Nigeria reiterates its readiness to strengthen these valued ties, explore new areas of mutual benefit, and continue working with the Republic of the Congo to address regional and global challenges.
“Once again, we extend our warmest regards to the Government and People of the Republic of the Congo, with hopes for lasting harmony, economic advancement, and shared prosperity”, the Minister said.
