How Kenyan Plane Crash Killed Six, Including Medical Staff and Residents

A tragic incident occurred in Nairobi, Kenya, where a medical plane belonging to Amref Flying Doctors crashed into a residential building, resulting in the deaths of six people. The plane, a Cessna Citation XLS, was headed to Hargeisa in Somalia when it lost contact with air traffic control just three minutes after takeoff from Wilson Airport.

Four people on board the plane died, including doctors, nurses, and the pilot.
– Two residents on the ground were also killed.
– Two others suffered serious injuries.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation, with authorities dispatched to the scene. Amref CEO Stephen Gitau stated that the organization is cooperating fully with aviation authorities and emergency response teams to determine the facts surrounding the incident.

Patricia Kombo, an eyewitness, described hearing a loud bang and seeing a red flash before smoke billowed from the crash site. “We then heard people screaming and running,” she said, adding that the impact created a significant hole in the ground.

This incident comes just a day after a military helicopter crash in Ghana claimed eight lives, including two government ministers.
