House of Rep Member Joins Train of Global Alliance for Peace and Unity

The Honourable Member Representing Kwande/ Ushongo Constituency Benue State, Hon. Terseer Ugbor, on Monday said he would be an advocate for peace in the National Assembly

Hon. Ugbor made this assertion as he joined the train of Global Allaince for Peace and Unity, a global peace organisation when they
presented him with the “Certificate of Commendation as Peace and Unity Advocate in Nigeria’’ in his office at the National Assembly in Abuja.

The Honourable commended the group for honouring him and said he has availed himself to be peace advocate in the national assembly

“And one thing that I have decided to do, is to make sure that I will be an advocate of peace representing GAPU in the national assembly. There is need for Nigerians to live in peace,” he said.

Hon. Ugbor pledged unalloyed support for GAPU to achieve its aims

Speaking earlier, the President Global Alliance for Peace and Unity, Hon. Solomon Pevkyaa extolled the Honourable for his achievements since his assumption of office, noting that evidence shows that he has hit the ground running.

He said: ‘’We appreciate your contributions to the humanitarian activities, peace, unity and development to your constituency within this short period you have stayed in office”

“You are a genuine and an advocate of peace.

“We have collectively watched and observed you to be a peaceful humble leader with a simple and humane disposition to all manner of persons, irrespective of age, background, status, tribe, race or colour as such well deserving of the organisation’s Commendation” said Pevkyaa

“In recognition of your outstanding leadership qualities, great strides, Impactful contributions, sense of commitment towards ensuring peace and unity, our organisation has chosen you for an award in our forthcoming Peace and Unity Summit” he revealed

The President called for implementation of peace policies, affirmed that all religions preach peace, which is a prime necessity for all humankind.

“Nigeria is overdue for a national framework to guide efforts to prevent, build peace, and promote human rights and justice in a more coordinated effort. Peace is an asset many societies yearn for. Once society has it, the sky is the limit for its development initiatives. Growth and development begin to shape the socioeconomic and political lives of its people but without peace, reverse is the case.”
