H. E. SHAMEEM, OTHERS VISIT THE ROME CRUISE TERMINAL……. As Bangladesh becomes Chairman of IORA

The Bangladesh Ambassador to Italy, His Excellency Md Shameem Ahsan and other dignitaries visited the Rome Cruise Terminal in Civitavecchia Port on 01 July, 2021.
The even which was Organised by the Italian Foreign Ministry organised witnessed participation of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA), Ambassadors and representatives of IORA member States in Rome as part of the activities of the Italy-IORA Committee, aimed at promoting cooperation between Italy and the IORA, and with the participation of private companies and civil society. The visit to the Terminal hub and the Costa Smeralda cruise ship were an opportunity to learn more about the economy and the logistics of the Cruise tourism sector. After briefing session, the organizers hosted lunch at the Costa Smeralda Ship (Costa Crociere).
Bangladesh, one of the active members, is going to take charge of Chairmanship of the IORA in from November,2021 for a 2-year term. The IORA is an inter-governmental organisation established on 7 March 1997 aimed at strengthening regional cooperation and sustainable development within the Indian Ocean region through its 23 Member States and 9 Dialogue Partners. Italy is one of the most active Dialogue Partners.
