In the vibrant city of Accra, Ghana, a gathering of leaders from the Gulf of Guinea Commission convened for their 6th Ordinary Session. Representing Nigeria, HE Yusuf Maitama Tuggar (OON) stood before the assembly, delivering a message from President Bola Tinubu, who was unable to attend due to pressing state matters.
With warmth and gratitude, Tuggar acknowledged the hospitality of Ghana’s President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and the Ghanaian people. He commended the Committee of Experts and the Executive Secretary for their tireless efforts to promote a safe and secure region.
As Tuggar addressed the assembly, his words carried a sense of urgency and unity. He emphasized the need for collective action to address the challenges facing the Gulf of Guinea, from piracy to economic instability.
“We must work together to heal our region,” Tuggar urged. “We owe it to our people, our children, and our future.”
The assembly responded with a shared commitment to cooperation and collaboration. In the spirit of unity, they pledged to tackle the region’s challenges head-on, fostering a brighter future for the Gulf of Guinea.
As the session drew to a close, Tuggar’s message lingered, a reminder of the power of collective action and the promise of a more secure, prosperous region.
