Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator John Owan Enoh, who represented Cross River Central in the 8th Senate, has declared his intention to take over from Gov Ben Ayade in 2023.
Enoh, who described the INEC as the “masters of the game”, urged the APC not to take chances if the party should emerge victorious in the 2023 general elections. “Take note that the 2023 governorship elections will be duly contested for in Cross River State in Nigeria. We have a party that has men, materials and resources, to match us at every step that we take; our ability to win is going to depend on the competitive edge we will provide for the electorates.
“So, let us avoid a candidate with baggage and not take chances in 2023. Let us look for a candidate with acceptability and competitiveness.
Section 84(8) of the Electoral Act,2022 on party primaries and 2023 general elections states it all if an aspirant is disqualified from a party primaries by the party screening committee and appeal committee, if he erroneously participate in the primary any vote accrued to him is considered a wasted votes.
