GMSC Conference: NIMASA, Stakeholders Fully Prepared To Host 2019 Edition

The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), and other stakeholders engaged in preparing for the Global Maritime Security Conference (GMSC), were spotted carrying out finishing touches to ensure that the GMSC, which comes up between 7- 9, October, is successful.
Accreditation for over 2000 registered participants started Sunday, October 6, with all security precautions being observed.
One of the operators at the accrediting room who spoke to our reporter (off record), said, “we are happy to be part of this epoch making event that will host participants from all parts of the world. We are also also trying to make sure that we accredit everybody that comes here with all due process.”
In a press statement made available to News Dot Africa, the Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Dakuku Peterside, has said that a robust collection of international maritime security stakeholders have confirmed their attendance.
According to Dakuku, the conference which is organised to address pertinent security issues in the Gulf of Guinea maritime domain, is expected to produce a declaration on Maritime Security in Gulf of Guinea.
At the last count 38 Navies, 27 Coast Guards 27 and 500 foreign stake holders in the maritime sector has registered.
