Ghana Meteorological Agency Launches Meteorological Awareness Month (MAM) 2026 Roadshow

The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has officially launched the Meteorological Awareness Month (MAM) 2026 Roadshow, a nationwide campaign running from 24th February to 2nd April 2026.
The annual initiative is designed to deepen public understanding of weather and climate services while promoting preparedness, safety, and climate resilience across Ghana.
Described as more than a celebration, MAM 2026 is a national call to action, encouraging individuals, institutions, and communities to make meteorological awareness a daily habit.
Promoting Climate Resilience Through Innovation
Throughout the roadshow period, GMet will engage communities, schools, media houses, policymakers, and key stakeholders through:
Public education campaigns
Community outreach programs
Media engagements and live demonstrations
Exhibitions of meteorological technologies
Strategic partnerships to enhance early warning dissemination
The Agency continues to leverage innovation, collaboration, and trusted weather and climate information to safeguard lives and property while supporting critical sectors such as agriculture, aviation, disaster management, marine operations, and infrastructure planning.
Strengthening National Preparedness
With increasing climate variability and extreme weather events, GMet emphasizes the importance of accurate forecasting and timely early warnings in protecting livelihoods and supporting national development.
Meteorological Awareness Month 2026 seeks to:
Improve public interpretation of weather forecasts
Strengthen early warning systems
Encourage climate-smart planning and decision-making
Build stronger institutional and community partnerships
Call to Action
