FRSC Names Ohaeri Osondu Joseph as New Spokesperson in Major Communications Overhaul

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), has announced the appointment of Deputy Corps Commander Ohaeri Osondu Joseph as its new Corps Public Education Officer (CPEO), in a strategic move aimed at strengthening public engagement and enhancing nationwide road safety advocacy.

The appointment, described as a significant shift in the Corps’ communication strategy, underscores FRSC’s renewed commitment to reshaping public perception and promoting safer road use through more impactful and coordinated enlightenment campaigns.

Joseph, a seasoned communications strategist and administrator, brings over two decades of experience to the role. He previously served as Media Relations Officer at the FRSC National Headquarters in Abuja for 15 years, where he played a key role in projecting the agency’s image and communicating its policies on critical national issues.

His operational experience spans several commands, including serving as Unit Head of Operations in Keffi and Bida, as well as Assistant Corps Commander (Operations) in Kaduna Sector Command. He also held positions as Head of Special Duties and External Relations, where he facilitated strategic partnerships and multi-sector collaboration.

A Fellow of both the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations and the Institute of Corporate Administration, Joseph is widely regarded as a thought leader in public communication. He is the author of the book “The Potency of Public Enlightenment Campaigns on Road Crash Reduction in Nigeria,” alongside several publications on road safety management.
Beyond his professional duties, he has contributed to community and faith-based organisations, including serving as Public Relations Officer of the Methodist Archdiocese of Abuja and chairing the publicity committee for the 170th anniversary of Methodism in Nigeria.
Until his latest appointment, Joseph served as Deputy Corps Commander in charge of Marshal Inspectors, Administration and Human Resources at the FRSC Headquarters, where he was instrumental in advancing institutional reforms and personnel development.

His career is marked by several accolades, including the FRSC Best Unit Commander Award in 2022, multiple leadership and innovation honours, and international recognition as a Peace Ambassador.

With Joseph at the helm of its public education unit, the FRSC is poised to roll out more aggressive, data-driven, and results-oriented awareness campaigns aimed at reducing road traffic crashes and improving compliance with safety regulations nationwide.
