Carabao Cup: City crash out
Alexander Isak scored the only goal in Newcastle United’s win over Manchester City in the third round of the Carabao cup.
United Manager, Eddie Howe made ten changes from the side that walloped Sheffield United 8-0 in the Premier League but the goal came in the second half as Isak benefitted from a fine work from Joelinton.
Newcastle are now unbeaten in four games after a run of three straight losses.
Chelsea pip Brighton
Chelsea recorded a slim win Brighton and Hove Albion in the Carabao Cup at Stamford Bridge.
Nicolas Jackson was the difference in an intense game to see them pick up their first win in four matches and set up a last-16 tie against Championship side Blackburn Rovers.
Blues Manager, Mauricio Pochettino hopes that the result will be a turning point in their season as that was also their first goal scored in 4 games.
Liverpool records comeback win against Leicester City
Coady Gakpo, Dominik Szoboszlai and Diogo Jota all scored as Liverpool FC defeated Leicester City in the Carabao Cup and set up a quarter final berth against Bournemouth FC

Nelson shoots Arsenal to Round 4
Arsenal needed a lone goal from Reiss Nelson in the first half early strike was to beat Brentford 1-0 and book their place in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
The Gunners winger was handed a rare opportunity at the Gtech Community Stadium with Emile Smith Rowe starting a competitive match for Arsenal for the first time in 499 days.
Aaron Ramsdale, who has seen himself as second choice to David Raya produced a fine save to deny a Brentford equalizer.
United crush Palace
On Tuesday, Manchester United produced by far their best performance of the season yet when they defeated Crystal Palace 3-0 in the Carabao Cup.
Alejandro Garnacho, Casemiro and Anthony Martial were all on the scoreline for the Red Devils.
The game saw Sofyan Amrabat, who is on loan from Fiorentina get his first start of the season.
The 4th round of the competition will see a repeat of last season’s final between Manchester United and Newcastle United.

La Liga: Madrid returns to winning ways with win over Las Palmas
Brahim Diaz and Joselu scored for Real Madrid as they bounced back from their weekend defeat to local rivals Atletico Madrid
The win saw them move them up to second in La Liga. Diaz scored first from a deflected effort minutes to halftime before Joselu’s glancing header made it 2-0.
Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti made five changes from the defeat by Atletico, including resting top scorerJude Bellingham.
Serie A: Osimhen scores without celebrating
Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen scored his side’s second goal of the night in their 4-1 thrashing of Udinese in the Serie A but made no attempt to celebrate.
The Nigerian who was irate after a video was posted on the club’s official TikTok account mocking the Nigerian for his penalty miss in the goalless draw with Bologna.
He has since threatened legal actions against the club.
Other goals came from Piotr Zielinski from the spotkick, with Osimhen making it two six minutes before half-time.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia ended a run of 17 games without a goal and Giovanni Simeone who replaced Osimhen made it 4 and take the defending champions to 5th place on the table.
Milan defeats Cagliari
AC Milan produced a fine comeback win against Cagliari in the Serie A last night with a 3-1 at the Unipol Domus on Wednesday evening.
Zito Luvumbo produced a stunning goal to rattle Milan and put Cagliari ahead. But
Noah Okafor levelled things up for his first goal for the club five minutes before the halftime with a close-range finish from a rebound. Fikayo Tomori put the Milan side infront on the stroke of half-time.
Ruben Loftus Cheek’s scored from distance in the second half to give the Rossoneri the win and make it five wins from six in the league and climb to the second position.
Latest News: Antony invited for questioning
Manchester united winger, Antony will be meeting Greater Manchester Police to answer questions about the assault allegations made against him.
The 23 year old Brazilian has been accused by his ex-girlfriends, Gabriela Cavallin which further claims by Rayssa de Freitas and Ingrid Lana.
He has agreed to surrender his phone to GMP to aid their investigation and United say they are taking the allegations “seriously” and have granted Antony leave with full pay to deal with the allegations.
News broke out in September 4 on a Brazilian news outlet, UOL where it was published that the winger allegedly headbutted Lana in the month of January, an allegation he has since denied.
Milan to move to new stadium
Italian giants AC Milan have announced that they have concluded plans to move from the famous Giuseppe Meazza Stadium to their new stadium.
The club has filed proposals to the city council in the Southern suburb of San Donato.
The San Siro has been home to Milan since 1926 and the share the facility which has not been renovated since 1990 with local rivals, Inter.
Both clubs have tried severally to modernize the facility but a local heritage Commission says the ground has “cultural interest” so cannot be knocked down, which has forced both clubs to look elsewhere.
The new Milan stadium will have a Club headquarters, hotel, club shop and museum.
