FG Commends D’Tigers Over FIBA Ranking

The Federal Government of Nigeria has praised the male basketball team, D’Tigers, for their recent superlative performance at the recently concluded FIBA World Championships in China which earned them 23rd position in the latest FIBA ranking.

Minister of Sports Development, Mr. Sunday Dare, commended the African champions and Olympic Qualifiers to Tokyo 2020 for the feat, assuring them of the Federal Government support all the way in their subsequent international competitions.

Similarly, the Minister recalled the stellar performances and skillful display of the female Basketball team, D’TIGRESS, who were resilient in spirit and character of Tiger on the basketball court and becoming AFRO-BASKET championship in Senegal, Dakar.

The Minister who visited the Dodan Basketball academy in Ilupeju, lagos, for inspection, said that he wanted to play with the basketball team of starlets, which include the male and female, ages  6-15, but was unable because of the rain. He. however promised to play with them in his next visit.
