FEDAN AWARDS DR ANTHONIA EKPA FOR DILIGENCE AND CONTRIBUTIONS IN THE TRANSPORT SECTOR

The Director of Road Transport Administration and Mass Transit Operation and Permanent Secretary designate, Dr Mrs Anthonia Ekpa has been awarded for her diligence and contributions in the transport sector by the Female Drivers Association of Nigeria.
Speaking in her good will message, Dr. Ekpa who was represented by Mrs Sharang Jennifer, reinstated her belief that with more women on the road, there will be less accident and urged FEDAN not to be afraid or intimidated.
The Deputy Commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil D,efence Corps, Sugh Beatrice urged the female drivers to be of good conduct, avoid over loading and over speeding as well as equip themselves with self defence skills. She noted that Covid-19 is a war and should not be treated with levity.
Other Stake holders at the event include, the Director General, National Centre for Women Development (NCWD), represented by Mrs Maimuna Yongori , the FRSC Corp Marshal represented by SRC Iliyasu Jimoh and some officials of Vehicle Inspection Office.
The Facilitator and resource person, CEO Fatacards, Dr Fatal Aliu and two members of FEDAN who had distinguished themselves by their commitment to the job, were also given awards.
FEDAN is set up to be bring together all women drivers in Nigeria to under one roof to promote women in the professional skills, resolve issues of conflict among members, deal with challenges and carry out activities that will empower women and youths. The association is made up of female private drivers, female employee drivers, female commercial drivers and female automobile technicians.
