FCT NAWOJ Calls for urgent action against rape

The FCT Chapter of the National Association of Women journalists (NAWOJ), has called on relevant stakeholders to take action urgently to end the rape scourge trending in the country.
NAWOJ stated this during a peaceful walk in Abuja as part of activities to mark her seven days activism against rape led by the Chairperson, Comrade Stella Okoh-Esene and FCT NUJ Chairman, Comrade Emmanuel Ogbeche.
Comrade Lemmy Ughegbe and Barr Esther Uzoma are among other concerned citizens who are also worried about the increase in rape incidents, joined the female journalists in the FCT to lend their voices to the nation wide campaigns against Rape.
NAWOJ and their supporters started the walk from the NUJ FCT secretariat to the streets of Utako, the Utako Market and back to the Secretariat, chanting slogans like “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, NO TO RAPE AND NO MEANS NO.”
