Eulogies As Namibian President Clocks 79 NGO, Nigerians Celebrate Geingob As African Patriot

An international non-governmental organisation (iNGO) known as The Mighty One Empowerment Foundation (TEMOEFA) has celebrated the 79th birthday anniversary of an African legend and pan-Africanist, Dr. Hage Geingob, who is also the President of the Republic of Namibia, at the Embassy of Namibia in Abuja, Nigeria.

Global Network News reports that Dr. Barika Saro-Laka, founder of TEMOEFA who spoke at the event, said legends and African patriots are better celebrated while alive as it affords the celebrants the opportunity to participate in such events and to be motivated to offer more services for the benefit of humanity than only when such legends were dead.

He described President Geingob as a great performer who has increased the access of his people to energy for production and industrialisation as well as promoted the inclusion of the vulnerable populace in Namibia. By this style of leadership, Dr. Saro-Laka added, “Namibians have become fulfilled for voting him twice at the Presidential polls.
He prayed God to increase the President Geingob’s days on earth as well as grant him wisdom and strength so as to serve Namibians and the world with more vigour and zeal, noting that Africa has a global icon of impact in Dr. Hage Geingob, whose maximum capacity would unfold with time.

Responding, the Namibian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Ambassador Humphrey Geiseb, thanked the NGO for the surprise gesture of remembering the Namibian President’s historic day and for the prayers offered for his continuous success in office.

He called on the NGO, companies and multi-national establishments to partner with his embassy so as to help in deepening the robust bilateral relations between Nigeria and Namibia as well as in wooing foreign investors to Namibia, which he described as a peaceful and safe haven for multi-lateral investments and fertile ground for obtaining huge returns on investments.

According to Geiseb, the government of Namibia is ready to approve incentives to investors willing to do business in their country and extends the best wishes of President Hage Geingob to the good people of Nigeria, assuring of a more mutually beneficial ties between both countries. The senior envoy added that “Presidents Hage Geingob and Muhammadu Buhari have posted outstanding achievements in office and displayed uncommon passion in serving their people and in uplifting the African continent while these feats and virtues have earned them the respect of other global leaders.”

The High Commissioner said Namibia welcomes partnership from establishments in the organised private sector (OPS) as well as governments and their agencies as it plans to export salt, canned beef and other mineral and agro-allied products to African countries as it has done, over the years, to Europe and America.

Dr Geingob, born on 3rd August, 1941, is the third president of Namibia and has been in office since 21 March 2015. Geingob was the first Prime Minister of Namibia from 21 March 1990 to 28 August 2002, and served as Prime Minister again from 4 December 2012 to 21 March 2015 when he became President.
