ETUNG LGA: Behold Another Talented Player Worthy of Celebration Soon

Football, as we know, plays a significant role in the society, extending beyond sport itself, to impact various aspects of life.
It brings people together, creating a sense of community and social bonding among fans, players and teams, thereby integrating people from different backgrounds, cultures and socio-economic statuses, promoting social cohesion and understanding.
Football, is often used as a platform for charity and fundraising, with many clubs, players and organizations supporting various social causes.
The football industry, creates millions of jobs worldwide, from Players and Coaches to Administrators, Marketers and Support Staff.
Female footballers on- the- other- hand,play a vital role, in promoting gender equality and empowerment, inspiring young girls and women,take up the sport, breaking down barriers and pushing boundaries.
They, also contribute to the economic growth of the sport, with the women’s game generating significant revenue, through sponsorships and broadcasting rights.
Today, we are celebrating Blessing Nkor, a Talented Female Football from Etung/ Ikom, who Plays as a forward and made very impressive headlines, in the Nigerian Women’s Football League (NWFL) before going to play Internationally, for Pyramids FC, in the Egyptian Women’s Topflight Football League.
Blessing, would be making us proud, as she joins her other Falconers, to lock horns with France, on Saturday, 30th November, 2024.
Another Etung Local Government Area, talented Female Footballer, we need to watch and celebrate, in the nearest future, is Rita Emmanuel Otio, from Abijang.
She is 19 years old, a good Midfielder & Striker, who currently plays for Ibom Stars, Akwa Ibom State.
Rita, played with Nkor Football Academy, Ikom, before proceeding to Ibom Stars.
She posseses ability to read the game, pick out passes and distribute the ball effectively to teammates, with high energy levels, to cover a lot of ground, press opponents and support both defense and attack.
Rita Otio, also has the ability, to win the ball back, break up opposition attacks and start counter-attacks.
Coincidentally, she is a product of Blessing Nkor’s grooming and needs our collective efforts, to start her International Football Career, outside Nigeria.
This, would give her the opportunity, to be called to the Falconets, in the nearest future.
Consequently, I humbly call on
the Councillor representing Abijang Ward, Hon. Ojang Kingsley Akwa, Leader of Etung Legislature, Hon. ThankGod Ekupnse Ojong and Executive Chairman of Etung Local Government Area, Hon. Henry Njar Anom (KSM), on behalf,of the good people of Etung, to help support Rita Otio, start her International Football Career.
I believe, she would not fail the good people of Abijang Ward and entire Etung Local Government Area.
