Engr.Sir Peter .C. Ohagwa Succeeds Prof .Adesanya Davies as UN-POLAC Country President

In a bid to promote peaceful coexistence across the country and effective actualisation of SDGs ,The United Nations Positive Livelihood Award Centre (UN-POLAC) has appointed new Country President ,H.E.Hon Engr Peter.C. Ohagwa.AmbP,Ksc,Fcai.
H.E Engr.Peter .C.Ohagwa who is to pilot the affairs of the organisation towards promoting peace, stability,and development within the next five years took over from H.E. Bishop Amb. Prof.Fumilayo Adesanya Davies whose tenure ended in December 2024.
At the inauguration in Uyo ,Akwa ibom State,the Director General of UNPOLAC,His Excellency, Prof. Halo B. Eton, who noted that the appointment is with immediate effect,urged the new Country President to bring to bare his wealth of experience and expertise , having demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and a strong commitment to the values of UN-POLAC.
“We are delighted to welcome H.E Hon Engr Peter C.Ohagwa as our new Country President,. His appointment is a testament to his dedication to the cause of peace and development, and we are confident that he will lead UN-POLAC to even greater heights.
In his acceptance speech,the new Country President,H.E Engr.Peter Ohagwa expressed gratitude to all members of UN-POLAC for the new elevation and pledged his loyalty to the members of UN-POLAC as well as resolved to work collaboratively with every peace advocate within the federation .
“I wish to extend my heartfelt appreciation to our Iron Lady and Our indefatigable Secretary General of UN-POLAC,Dr Mrs Patricia Agu,,the six Regional Directors and all the State Coordinators as well as others who contributed immensely to my success stories during my tenure as the Deputy Country President, your endorsement and confidence in my abilities have been invaluable.”he added
The new President highlighted some of his action plan towards repositioning the organisation in peace building of the country.
“Our Policies and programmes must be guided by the provision of UN-POLAC constitution and bylaws, henceforth we shall have at least 40%businessand 60% peace propagation in Nigeria.
“Recognizing the pressing need for accessibility in internet connectivity,we have expanded our website to meet international best practice”
Hon.Ohagwa also added that 5 Sub Committees have been already set up aimed at driving the transformative action plan of his administration.
“Under the banner of operation,we have already set in motion five sub committees, namely:1)Re infrastructural and Development committee (,2) Funding and Donor Agencies Committee(3)MDGs to SDGs Realization Committee,(4) UN-POLAC Peace College Restructuring Committee and 5) National international Diplomacy committee.
