Embassy of Indonesia in Nigeria Celebrates 2023 National Day in Grand Style

… Nigeria-Indonesia has enjoyed fruitful diplomatic and economic relations

The Indonesian Embassy in Nigeria was full of activities on the 17 August, 2023 in celebration of the country’s 78th independence.

While delivering his address during the commemorative event, the Indonesian Ambassador to Nigeria H.E Dr Usra Hendra Harahap states that Nigeria-Indonesia has enjoyed fruitful diplomatic and economic relations adding that there is need for the countries to work together for a common goal to foster development

The Embassy which celebrated it’s country’s independence in a grand style started with parade of flag raising ceremony and ended with diplomatic reception which he said is taking place in all countries.

The Ambassador noted that Indonesia’s flag has two colors, red and white. The red colour of the national flag represents courage, while the white colour represents honesty.

The theme of this year’s Independence Day is “Terus Melaju Untuk Indonesia Maju”, which stands for “Striving to Progress Indonesia”. The theme embodies the spirit of collaboration and togetherness to accelerate Indonesia’s growth and maintain local wisdom.

Harahap added that Nigeria and Indonesia suffers the same insecurity challenges hence there is need to keep collaborating so as to bring terrorism to an end.

He recalled that inorder to enhance Indonesia bilateral cooperation, on 16 June 2023, the Indonesian Government through the Indonesia Aid Agency released in two phases of delivery of the Indonesia’s pentavalent vaccine grant to Nigeria, with the total of 1,58 million doses. We are positive for a better future health cooperation. It reflects the Bandung spirit, a reflection of solidarity, a reflection of togetherness between Global South countries cooperation.

He disclosed that the Government of Indonesia will conduct the 38th Trade Expo Indonesia Hybrid Edition in 2023 bringing up the theme “Sustainable Trade for Global Economic Resilience” aimed for promoting Indonesian high-quality products via onsite from 18 to 22 October and by online from 18 October to 18 December. The Expo exhibits platform for the global market, develop business networks, and investment.
