Eid-El- Maulud: Ayade sues for peace from Muslims

The Cross River State Governor, His Excellency, Prof Ben Ayade has congratulated the Muslim Ummah on the celebration of the Eid-el-Maulid which symbolises the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammed.
In a statement signed by The Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Christian Ita, Ayade urged Muslim faithfuls to be ambassadors of peace, tranquility and to emulate the great examples and legacies of the Holy Prophet.
He emphasised the need to live in peace and harmony with each other, irrespective of religious, ethnic and tribal differences, saying this was the true essence of celebrating of Prophet Muhammed’s birth.
He called on the Muslim Community In Cross River State to always see themselves as partners in the development of the state, advising them to remain peaceful as the electioneering campaign commences across the State.
“On behalf of the Government and good people of Cross River State, I join the Muslim faithfuls ,especially in Cross River, to celebrate the anniversary of the birth of Prophet Muhammed.
“We remain Committed to a peaceful Nigeria despite our challenges. Please let us continue to be our brothers keepers which is the Focal agenda of this administration.
“It is as a result of my desire to ensure inclusiveness that my administration appointed over fourty Muslim Community members Into my Government, including cabinet ranking appointments,” the statement quoted the governor.
The Governor also encouraged the Ummah and other Citizens of Cross River State to recommit themselves to national unity and moral rectitude which is the only way to have a united and peaceful Country.
“Again, Congratulations amd Happy Eid-el-Maulid Celebrations”the statement added.
