Effective Project Management: Fundamental to the Success of Government Institutions… DINGYAD

The Honourable Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Mohammadu Maigari Dingyadi nathan stated that; Effective project management is fundamental to the success of programmes and projects of government institutions towards achieving jobs creation, skills development and sustainable economic growth.

He made this call in Abuja while receiving a team of the Chartered Institute of Project Management of Nigeria (CIPMN) on a courtesy visit.

Dingyadi, emphasized that, the Ministry is open to fostering collaboration that will promote sustainable economic, in alignment with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“we believe that partnership with esteemed organizations such as yours, can significantly contribute to our shared goals”. He stated.

The Minister reiterated that the ministry is charged with the responsibility of formulating and implementing policies aimed at promoting fair and balanced employment practices, safeguarding workers’ Rights and fostering harmonious labour relations.

“We also oversee employment generation initiatives, skills development programs, and implementation of laws that will ensure social justice and economic stability. It also extends to enhancing productivity through workforce development and ensuring that Nigeria remains competitive in the global economy”.

Earlier Dr. Adama Ahmed Muhammed who led the team of Chartered Institute of Project Managers of Nigeria (CIPMN) on behalf of the Registrar, said the purpose of the visit is to seek collaboration with the Ministry in Project management.

He added that, the institute is aware of the ministry’s achievements, such as the skills training programmes, revenue generation, job creation and employment, policy frame work.

He stressed that, the CIPMN collaboration will open access to a world -wide and national network of professionals.

Speaking further he said, ‘’CIPMN came into existence in 2018 with an Act number 3 with gazette number 15 volume 105 signed in by the late President Muhammadu Buhari with the mandate to Certify, Train and Collaborate with Project Managers in Ministries Departments and Agencies’’.
