EDO GUBER ELECTION: INEC Chairman kicks off 3-Day Readiness Assessments… Inspects election materials in Ikpoba-Okha, Egor, two other LGAs

The Chairman of the Independent National Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Mahmood Yakubu Tuesday morning visited the stores of four Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Edo state to inspect none sensitive materials meant for a smooth, free, fair and credible off-cycle governorship election billed for Saturday, September 21, 2024.
This is even as Yakubu’s first port of call for the 3-Day Assessment Visit to Edo state was at INEC office at Ikpoba-Okha LGA where he was taken on the tour of the store by the Commission’s State Electoral Officer (EO), Mr. James Gamble who also answered questions posed by the Chairman on the preparedness of the local branch for the upcoming governorship election.
Satisfied with what he met on ground, a visible happy Yakubu and his entourage including some INEC National Commissioners and top management staff visited Egor LGA where the EO Mr. Boma Bamson conducted Yakubu round the office complex and showed him the none sensitive materials ready for the election day deployment and utilisation.
Itinerary for today include readiness Assessment Visit to INEC LGA offices at Ikpoba-Okha, Egor, Oredo and Ovia North East- 10am; Mock Accreditation (Western Boys High School 1 and India College II – 1pm and ICCES Meeting (at INEC State Office, Benin) – 3pm.
