The National President Alh. Abdullahi Bello Bodejo made this known through the National Secretary Engineer Saleh Alhassan, who represented him at an international press conference held on the 6th September, 2021 on the enactment of anti-grazing laws by some state governors.

He said Fulanis are peaceful and would be the least to ask for war due to their nomadic lifestyles.
‘ we carry our families and properties on our heads while trekking miles, so how can we ask for war’?.

He expressed that the movement of this law is capable of not only affecting livestock production but also send millions of people into poverty.

He urged the state governments to take cognizance that Fulani people are nomadic in nature and that this association of theirs is suggesting that instead of signing this law they should take inventory of all the existing traditional grazing areas, major routes and fully develop atleast one grazing reserve in each senatorial zone.

Engr Saleh further recommended proper funding of National Commission of Nomadic Education and expansion of its mandate.
“I want to commend the government for responding to our calls to restore the existing grazing reserve and route which is the only sustainable solution to the farmers-herders conflict in the country”, he stated.

He also enjoined Fulani people to be law abiding as efforts are put in place to protect their interests.

It’s sad that herders-farmers are always in crises in our country today.
Conflict between herders and farmers brings about destruction of lives and properties and decreases production” he said.

Chiroma urged cohesion between herders and farmers in Nigeria for growth and development, peace and unity, progress and realization of national security objectives.
