Dikko Collaborate with Sen. UBA Sani for Advancement of Sports in Kaduna State

On Friday, January 25th, had a pivotal meeting with his brother and Governor of Kaduna State, His Excellency, Senator Uba Sani. The main focus of this strategic engagement centred around the advancement of sports in Kaduna State and how the state can align with the vision and objectives of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to activate and harness the sports economy as a key driver of Nigeria’s socio-economic development.

The meeting was also aimed at understanding the roadmap and setting clear timelines for the state and the National Sports Commission (NSC) to fast-track the conclusion of the process for the transfer of the iconic Ahmadu Bello Stadium to the Kaduna State Government.

As outlined by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, the sports economy has significant potential to contribute to the development of our nation. With this in mind, it is imperative that Kaduna State, under the leadership of Governor Uba Sani, seize this opportunity to utilize the sports industry as a catalyst for economic growth.

During our meeting, the Chairman said, “We discussed the need for private investment and collaboration in upgrading the Ahmadu Bello Stadium to meet international standards and transform it into a proper sports city”.

This will not only benefit the state but also attract more sporting events and boost tourism, thus contributing to the overall development of the state’s economy.

Dikko further explained that they agreed upon a clear understanding of the steps and timelines needed to achieve this goal, keeping in mind the approval of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. With a well-defined roadmap in place, “we are confident that Kaduna State will soon witness the transformation of the Ahmadu Bello Stadium into a world-class sports facility”, he enthuses.

Speaking earlier, His Excellency Senator Uba Sani, Governor of Kaduna State acknowledges the fact that the NSC has been working tirelessly to drive the sports economy, and “we are grateful for their support and partnership in this endeavour. Our joint efforts will not only bring about significant progress in the sporting sector but also contribute to the overall development of Nigeria”.

In conclusion, we are committed to working hand in hand with the NSC and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to realize the full potential of the sports economy in Kaduna State.
