DIAMOND JUBILEE: NAF Reels out programs to celebrate 60th Anniversary

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), has said that all the outfit is set to mark it’s 60th Anniversary with a debut exhibition and series of events showcasing its remarkable contributions to national security, regional stability, and aerospace innovations.
Speaking at a media brief with Journalists on Tuesday, the Chairman Organizing Committee, Air Vice Marshal Michael Ekwueme said the NAF has made tremendous progress in internal security, humanitarian assistance, peacekeeping operations, and democracy restoration in Africa. The Service has also achieved significant breakthroughs in Research and Development.
He assured that the celebration, themed “Nigerian Air Force at 60: Leveraging Strategic Partnerships in Aerospace Innovations for Regional Security,” promises to be a memorable one.
It will feature diverse activities, including medical outreaches, Juma’at prayers, and an Inter-Command Research and Development Competition. Additionally, there will be an Inter-Denominational Church Service, the unveiling of the newly licensed NAF Micro Finance Bank, and the commissioning of projects completed by the current leadership of NAF.
The highlight of the celebration will be a grand Ceremonial Parade, Aerial display, and Flying out of retired senior officers including the 37 and 38 Regular Courses on May 25, 2024 where the President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to be the Special Guest of Honour. In a novel approach, the NAF has partnered with Great Minds Event Management to bring in foreign exhibitors and participants, alongside local exhibitors, to showcase the capabilities of local defence companies.
NAF said that the milestone celebration promises to be a fitting tribute to the NAF’s 60 years of excellence and a testament to its commitment to regional security and aerospace innovations.
