Dame Pauline Tallen Congratulates Miss Agriculture

The Honourable Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen, OFR, KSG has congratulated the Miss Agriculture, Nigeria Pageant which is an initiative of the Government of Cross-Rivers State to drive attention of Nigeria women, young girls and boys to agricultural enterprises.

The pageant’s crown presently adorned by Christabel Eze, an indigene of Imo State who spoke during the visit to the Honourable Minister, is with the overall objective of increasing food supply from increased investments in agriculture.

The Miss Agriculture, Nigeria Pageant Team comprised of the Pageant’s Current Queen, Christabel Eze; Queen of Food Security, Nigeria, Angel Ogar; Queen of Western Farmers, Oluwatobi Jennifer Oluchi; Queen of Norther Farmer, Kurfuan Naanpoe Jemimah, Queen of Southern Farmers, Christy Anie; and the Project Manager, Agbeje Angela.

Dame Tallen said this agricultural enterprise development programme symbolised by the Pageant tallies with President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration’s Agricultural Transformation Agenda (ATA) noting that “After air, food is a necessity for survival.”

The Miss Agriculture, Nigeria Pageant Team visited the Honourable Minister today, Friday, 2nd July, 2021 to seek collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs for its “agro-preneurial programme” meant to ginger massive interests of women, young girls and boys in agriculture and food production.

Miss Agriculture, Nigeria, Christabel Eze disclosed that the “Agro-preneurial” programme is coming up on the 12th of August, 2021 at Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Calabar.  She further requested the President, Muhammadu Buahri, GCFR through the Honourable Minister of Women Affairs, to have the Government set up a Micro-Finance Bank specially to aid “agro-preneurial” programme for women.

Dame Tallen who identified with the Miss Agriculture, Nigeria Pageant’s objective as a “worthy fit” made her visitors to realize that President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR’s massive attention to agriculture is already being embraced and yielding great results.  She promised that the request of the Miss Agriculture; Nigeria Pageant’s Team will be promptly attended to, as the team came readily prepared having written out their requests for submission to the Honourable Minister.
