CRS NUJ boss appoints Ex-Officio Member

Comrade Gill Nsa, Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Cross River State Council, has announced the appointment of the Alhaji Rasheed Olanrewaju Zubair, an African Independent Television Senior Correspondent in the State, as the Ex-Officio and Member of the State working Committee of the Union.
This came after a unanimous acceptance by the members in a voice vote during the monthly Congress at the Ernest Etim Bassey Press Centre, Calabar.
Comrade Nsa extolled Rasheed’s abilities as a hardworking, dependable, reliable and a true Nigerian who has contributed immensely to the development of Journalism as well as the Socio-political landscape of Cross River Stste.
“I welcome my brother and friend, a long time Comrade in the struggle to move Cross River State Council forward and into the New Executive of this great Union.
“I have no doubt that Rasheed will join to progressively develop our great union in the effort to change the Union for the betterment of our members” he said.
In his acceptance speech, Olanrewaju commended the leadership of the Union and the elders for finding him worthy to be part of the newly elected Executive Members of Cross River State Council of the NUJ.
According to Rasheed, Cross River State has become my home and I will join the members of the new exco to change the narrative of NUJ the for better, insha Allah.
Comrade Gill Nsa and his executive were elected on the July 6, 2022, following the expiration of the Victor Udu – led Administration, defeating Oka Ibor of the State – owned Nigerian Chronicle in a keenly contested election conducted by the national officers of the NUJ.
