CROSS RIVER STATE PDP: Jarigbe replies Obaseki

Sen. Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe,The Senator representing Cross River State Northern Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has sent a strong reply to Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State over his recent comment about Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State.

He said Wike did not destroy the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Cross River State, rather, it was Governor Ben Ayade of the state who was incompetent and later defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to Jarigbe, “If Obaseki is referring to the defection of Governor Ayade, as the ‘destruction’ of the PDP in Cross River State, then we totally disagree with him. It is rather seen as good riddance to bad rubbish.

“At some point, Governor Ayade became an albatross in our party, and when he left, there was jubilation. In fact, if Ayade left the PDP because of Wike, a fellow Governor, then it is proof of how clearly handicapped Ayade was in the context of being influential and committed to the Party.”
