COVID-19:  FGN REVIEWS INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL PROTOCOL

In a bid to further reduce the risk of importation and exportation of COVID-19 variants of concern, the Federal Government of NIgeria has come out with a new a new International Travel Protocols through thePresidencial Steering Committee on COVID-19 which reviewed Nigeria’s International Travel Protocols.

In the revised protocols released by PSC Chairman and Secretary to the Government of the Federation Boss Mustapha, all passengers arriving Nigeria must provide evidence of COVID-19 PCR test done within 48hrs before departure.

In-bound passengers must also take a post-arrival Day 2 COVID-19 PCR test while those who are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated must self-isolate for 7 days after arrival and take an exit COVID-19 PCR test on Day 7..

For travellers leaving Nigeria, they must produce valid evidence of full vaccination against COVID-19 including a negative PCR test result obtained within 48hrs to the time of boarding.

The SGF notes that the revised protocols which take effect from 5th of December, 2021 are based on science, national experience, and global developments.
Boss Mustapha assures Nigerians, that the PSC shall continue to monitor global and specific country situations with a view to taking necessary measures to safeguard the health of Nigerians.
He urges all Nigerians to get fully vaccinated and continue to comply with all public health measures.
