The leadership of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC), has been urged to wade into the emergence of factions in the party’s just concluded state congresses and safe it from implosion.
Chairman of the Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee and Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni has also been tasked with nibbing the brewing crisis in the Bauchi State Chapter of the party, in the bud.
APC Chieftain, Garus Gololo in a media chat on Monday in Abuja said it was “unthinkable that Adamu Adamu who’ve been the State Minister of Education and has not given a scholarship to anyone from his state would think of imposing a candidate on Bauchi APC.
It only shows that he’s not a politician and does not understand the nuances of the job.”
The party Chieftain also criticised the Minister who he advised against competing with the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara.
According to Gololo, “since assuming office Adamu has only focused on bettering the life of his immediate family members. He only sends letters to his constituency where he has no direct impact even at ward level. He even lost election to the opposition in his ward.”
Dr Gololo who has been vocal on party and national issues equally criticized the handling of the party congress in other parts of the country.
“How does Tinubu except loyalty from Ambode seeing the manner in which he treated him. Like Dogara in Bauchi State, Ambode is right in Lagos just as the Ogun State Governor is right to decide what happens in the party chapter in his state,” he opined.
He further warned Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State to steer clear of Ibrahim Shekarau as the latter he alleged is out to destroy APC in the state.
“Ganduje should not be quick to forget the antics of Shekarau. The man is not focused and remains a problem that APC should avoid at all cost,” he added.
