Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has rolled out the welcome mat for investors worldwide, assuring them that the state is ripe for collaboration and investment opportunities. This assurance came during the third zonal sensitization and advocacy workshop organized by the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), for the North East in Bauchi.
The Governor, represented by Commissioner Hajia Amina Muhammad Katagum, commended NIDCOM for hosting the workshop, aimed at educating Nigerians at home and abroad about diaspora investment opportunities. He emphasized that the diaspora community is a significant source of potential investment, knowledge, ideas, and expertise that can transform Nigeria’s fortunes.
Governor Mohammed urged the northeastern government to seize this opportunity to learn how to attract diaspora investment, prioritizing revenue generation and exploring diaspora potentials. He reiterated his commitment to creating an enabling environment and improving the ease of doing business to bring prosperity to Bauchi State.
The workshop highlighted the Northeast region’s vast resources, including material, mineral, agricultural, and human resources, which can be harnessed for national development. Nigerians in the diaspora have remitted over $90 billion in the past five years, demonstrating the potential for diaspora investment to catalyze development in Nigeria.
