Bangladesh High Commissioner, H.E. Kabir Pays Courtesy Call on NIPC CEO, Discuss Investment and Trade Cooperation

H.E. Mr. Miah Md. Mainul Kabir, High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Nigeria, today paid a courtesy call on Mrs. Aisha Rimi, Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC), at her office in Abuja.

During the meeting, both sides engaged in productive discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation in investment, trade, and business promotion between Bangladesh and Nigeria. The High Commissioner highlighted Bangladesh’s growing manufacturing base, competitive export sectors, and investment-friendly policies, emphasizing opportunities for Nigerian investors in sectors such as textiles, pharmaceuticals, agro-processing, and ICT.

Mrs. Rimi underscored Nigeria’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for foreign direct investment and welcomed increased engagement with Bangladeshi businesses. She noted the vast potential for collaboration in key sectors including agriculture, energy, infrastructure, and digital economy.

The two sides agreed on the importance of strengthening institutional linkages, facilitating business-to-business contacts, and exploring joint initiatives aimed at boosting trade volumes and encouraging cross-border investments.

The courtesy call reaffirmed the shared commitment of Bangladesh and Nigeria to deepen economic ties and explore mutually beneficial partnerships for sustainable growth and development.
