Ayade’s SA on Presidency Matters assumes duties, visits RMAFC

The Special Adviser to Governor Ben Ayade on Presidency & National Assembly Matters, Ntufam (Hon) Etim John, Thursday assumed duties in Abuja.

Ntufam John, former Cross River State APC state chairman was 22nd June 2021 appointed by the governor to replace Amina Arong who had earlier resigned her appointment.

Briefly after reporting at the Cross River State Liaison Office, Abuja, Ntufam John paid an official visit to the Revenue Mobilization, Allocation & Fiscal Commission headquarters, Abuja.

At the commission, under the presidency, the Special Adviser met the Cross River State Representative, Ntufam Eyo Nsa Whiley to deliberate on key important issues bothering the state.

The SA engaged the Cross River RMAFC representative on the need for the commission to upwardly review allocation to the state as the present formula could no longer contend with present realities in Cross River State.

The former APC state chairman who expressed excitement over the appointment of Ntufam Eyo Nsa Whiley as commissioner representing Cross River State at the Revenue Mobilization Allocation & Fiscal Commission described Ntufam Whiley as ‘a patriot who has committed a good chunk of his life fighting for a better Cross River’.

“Ntufam Eyo Nsa Whiley is an upright man who really cares about the progress of Cross River State. He has always been committed and altruistically concerned about the good of the state. I’m so excited he is our Representative at RMAFC. I am happy because I know he is representing us with passion”, he said.

Responding, the Cross River State RMAFC commissioner, Ntufam Eyo Nsa Whiley said his only agenda at the commission was to protect and advance the interest of Cross River State.

He Decried the poor financial situation of the state which he blamed on the federal government’s decision to cede bakassi peninsula to Cameron without adequate compensation plan.

Ntufam Whiley vowed to ensure Cross River got an upward review of it’s allocation in the forthcoming revenue allocation formula review exercise which according to him would help mitigate against the harsh financial condition of the state.
