AYADE PROMISES HARD TIMES TO ILLEGAL WOOD LOGGERS

Cross River State Governor, Sen. Ben Ayade has vowed to come down hard on illegal wood loggers. He complained of their activities being responsible of the depletion of the state forest reserve.

In a meeting with newsmen in his office, Ayade promised to prosecute even his appointees if found guilty of the nefarious act.

He complained of the rate of depletion of the forest area which makes up 58 per cent of the entire forest cover of Nigeria.

He also said that the prosecution of any captured illegal wood logger will be done with the full glare of the international community.
