Aviation Ministry’s New Permanent Secretary Visits AAAU, Commits to University’s Growth

The African Aviation and Aerospace University (AAAU), Abuja, received a significant boost today, the 9th of January, 2025, as the newly deployed Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, paid a courtesy visit to the university.

The visit marked Dr. Kana’s first engagement with the university following his deployment, as he sought to familiarise himself with AAAU’s operations and progress. Accompanied by ministry officials, he was warmly welcomed by AAAU staff, led by the Registrar, Mustapha Sheikh Abdullahi.

The visit which started with an introductory session from the staff of AAAU and the Permanent Secretary’s entourage followed with a detailed presentation on AAAU by the Registrar.

In his presentation, the Registrar provided a comprehensive overview of the university’s journey, including its achievements, affiliations, collaborations, staff training initiatives, ongoing projects, and the challenges it faces.

Dr. Kana commended the university’s leadership and staff for their dedication to advancing aviation and aerospace education in Nigeria. He expressed his admiration for AAAU’s accomplishments and pledged the ministry’s full support in driving the institution’s development to even greater heights.

The visit concluded with a tour of AAAU’s facilities on its take-off campus and its permanent site along the Bill Clinton Drive, Airport Road, Abuja, where various construction projects are underway.

Dr. Kana’s visit reaffirms the ministry’s commitment to nurturing innovation and excellence in Nigeria’s aviation and aerospace sector, with AAAU playing a pivotal role in shaping the industry’s future.
