The APC Initiative for Good Governance (APC-IGG) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his continued commitment to transparency, accountability, and efficiency in governance, particularly in the administration of military pensions.

In a statement issued by its National President, Ambassador Musa Muhammed Tsoken, the group praised the President’s approval of the appointment of Abubakar Idris Adamu (Rtd) as Chairman of the Military Pensions Board, effective December 4, 2025. According to the APC-IGG, the appointment reflects a deliberate effort by the administration to harness the expertise of seasoned professionals in improving the welfare of retired military personnel and their families.

The group, however, called for the immediate and full implementation of the presidential directive, stressing that any delay in enabling the new chairman to assume office could undermine the authority of the President and disrupt institutional efficiency.

APC-IGG noted that all government agencies are constitutionally obligated to execute presidential appointments in good faith and without delay, warning that unnecessary bottlenecks could weaken public confidence and create avoidable institutional friction.

It further urged the Presidency, the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, and other relevant institutions to work collaboratively in resolving any administrative or procedural issues surrounding the appointment.

The statement emphasized that smooth transitions and adherence to due process are critical for maintaining continuity in governance and ensuring effective service delivery, particularly in a sensitive area such as military pensions.
Reaffirming its support for the Tinubu administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, the APC-IGG expressed confidence that swift action would reinforce democratic institutions, safeguard the welfare of pensioners, and demonstrate respect for constitutional order.

The group concluded by appealing for urgent steps to enable Air Vice Marshal Adamu to assume office and restore full operational momentum at the Military Pensions Board.
