The FCT Police Command has issued a warning against commercial motorcyclists (Okada riders) allegedly planning to attack Task Force officials in Kubwa, Abuja, on July 11, 2025. The command considers such actions as criminality and vows to deploy all lawful means to prevent public disorder.
In a press release made available to New Dif Africa and signed by the Public Relations Officer, FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, the command warns Okada riders against carrying out violent attacks on Task Force officials.
“Any person or group involved in planning or executing such attacks will face arrests, prosecution, and necessary force.
“Police personnel and operational assets will be deployed in Kubwa to prevent breaches of peace.
She urged residents to report suspicious movements or persons via emergency lines:
– 0803 200 3913
– 0806 158 1938
This warning follows previous tensions between Okada riders and law enforcement in the FCT, particularly regarding okada ban enforcement. In a past incident, motorcyclists attacked Vehicle Inspection Officers over seizure of motorcycles.
