President of the Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF), Dr. Uyi Akpata, is representing Nigeria among top cricket administrators across the continent at the Conference for Africa Cricket Board Members, hosted by Cricket Namibia in collaboration with the International Cricket Council (ICC), during the ongoing ICC U19 World Cup.
The high-level gathering brings together presidents and senior executives of African cricket boards, alongside the ICC Chairman and key global stakeholders, to engage in strategic discussions focused on strengthening governance structures, expanding international cooperation, and accelerating the growth of cricket across Africa.
Central to the conference agenda are initiatives targeted at youth development, grassroots expansion, and high-performance programmes designed to raise competitive standards and create sustainable talent pathways on the continent.
Participants are also sharing best practices in administration, funding models, facility development, and tournament organization, with the goal of building stronger and more resilient cricket ecosystems in their respective countries.
Dr. Akpata’s participation underscores Nigeria’s commitment to aligning with continental and global cricket development frameworks, while positioning the Nigeria Cricket Federation as an active contributor to Africa’s collective vision for the future of the sport.
The engagement forms part of a broader ICC-supported effort to deepen collaboration among African member boards and harness the momentum of the U19 World Cup to inspire the next generation of cricketers across the region.
