AfYEF Membership Hit 5 Million, as President Siita Appeals To African Youths to Join The Group

A Youth Entrepreneurs group which was launched on 10th June this year has recorded five million members in Africa.
The AfCFTA Young Entrepreneurs Federation (AfYEF), according to the President Mr. Siita Sofo Hissan, is a league of youth entrepreneurship organizations from across the African continent that serves as a representative voice for young entrepreneurs on AfCFTA. Thus they seek to organize the biggest network of Young Entreprenuers across Africa to take part in trade.
“It is to mobilise the youth to take advantage of the single continental market. Among other things seeks to train and build capacity of youth entrepreneurs, advocate for them when the need arises and further facilitate trade”, Siita explained.
The former CEO of National Television Limited, NTV, (one of the biggest media houses in Ghana which he founded that transmits through the satellite across West Africa) who was in Nigeria during the African Youth and Talent Summit (AYTS) which between 21st – 24th July 2021, who spoke to the News Dot Africa Correspondent said the establishment of the AfYEF sought to engage, connect and unite young entrepreneurs in Africa to trade among themselves.
“AfCFTA seems to be what we the youth of Africa needs. According to world bank reports, more than 30 million Africans will be taken out of abject poverty in 14 years when AfCFTA is well implemented,” he noted.
The AfYEF President encouraged all young entrepreneurs in Africa to join the federation regardless of the size of their businesses and location to leverage on the profound opportunity AfCFTA offers.
On the final day (24th of July, 2021) at the NAF Conference Centre in Abuja, Siita was Awarded and recognized for his contribution to youth development across Africa by AYTS based in Nigeria along side other notable personalities like Hon. Joe Ghartey (Member of Parliament and former Minister in Ghana) among other notable personalities. This award they believe will motivate him and draw attention of key stakeholders to support the youth of Africa to become economically independent.
