AFCON going to East Africa in 2027 with Morocco hosting the 2025 edition

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has awarded the hosting rights of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCIN) to Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
The African football governing body made the announcement at the end of its Executive Committee meeting on Wednesday.
It is the first time the competition will be hosted by three countries and by the time, it will be 51 years since the competition was last hosted in East Africa – Ethiopia did so in 1976.
CAF also announced that Morocco will be hosting the tourney in two years time.
Nigeria who last hosted the prestigious competition in 2000 were interested in hosting the 2027 edition.
