ADC ADOPTED AS ONE PARTY PLATFORM FOR YOUTHS-NATIONAL CHAIRMAN
The National Chairman, African Democratic Congress, ADC, Mr. Ralphs Okey Nwosu, has announced the adoption of ADC as the one party platform for the youths following the outcome of the cyber poll conducted by the Nigerian youths, both at home and in the diaspora.
Nwosu disclosed this on Tuesday, 27 April, 2021 at the party’s Global Campus and World Headquarters in Abuja when he was formally presented a certificate of endorsement by the youth leader of ADC, Barrister Maurice Ebam.
He narrated that the online poll ran for six weeks, saying that at the end of it all, ADC polled over 40% of the votes to emerge as the preferred party amongst the INEC registered political parties in Nigeria. According to him,
“With the outcome of the poll and the manner the Nigerian youths and Nigerians generally have rejected the two parties in government in our states and the federation to embrace ADC,I have all reasons to believe that youths are ready to drive the national transformation initiative that is well captured in the ADC manifesto ANewNigeria@ADC.com”
The National Chairman of ADC said, “The youths have taken the initiatives to jettison the old order, which is to do away with corruption and money politics. They have made their conscious decision to play with integrity and thry have expressed readiness to walk the streets and explore the opportunities in social media to lift Nigeria from its current stupor.
“The maturity and democratic sense are fully manifest. The 50 million Youth-Decides trajectory will certainly berth in 2023, the outcome and country we envision”
Speaking on the security situation in the country, Nwosu asserted that President Muhammadu Buhari should urgently find lasting solutions to the killings and kidnappings ongoing across Nigeria.
He lamented that several youths across Nigeria, who have been kidnapped by the banditry and kidnappers, are yet to be released while some of them have been killed.
Nwosu, while calling on government to safe the lives of the citizens, he said, “It is time for APC and PDP to leave; killing is enough, bad governance is enough, corruption is enough”
The National Chairman, while reacting to questions from newsmen said that INEC has been overpopulated with politicians leaving the core civil servants who were trained to handle the elections redundant.
He assured that when the ADC comes on board in 2023, all the processes would be changed and elections will be conducted in a peaceful and transparent manner devoid of malpractices.
“There is no better day to formally launch the ADC Youth Council. The Youth Council is a convergence of all ADC National Youth Mobilization, ethical and learning programmes and call to action activities. The ADC Youth Council is structured in the same robust way as all other organs in our party and it is subordinate to NWC. It prepares the youth organ of the party for takeover of the mega party structure and political leadership of the country” Nwosu said.
