ACCI: Bringing Innovations To Meet Global Standards In Commerce And Industry

The innovations, creativity, collaborations and management style of the President, Prince Adetokunbo Kayode and his team has brought about the accelerated transformation of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), to meet global standards.
The ACCI currently has four centres of strategic business autonomy.
The first is the Abuja Trade Centre (ATC), which has the mandate to develop trade related activities, which includes Trade Missions, Trade Expos, Business Development, Trade data and Information.
The other three centres are: Business Entrepreneurship, Skills and Technology Centre that creates opportunity and provides avenue for world – class learning. ACCI Policy Advocacy Centre (PAC), which has the responsibility to develop strategic framework for public policy advocacy in order to fast track economic and social development of the country, and the ACCI Dispute Resolution Centre (DRC), that focuses on fair and efficient alternative dispute resolution and beyond.
The ATC is presently the cash cow of the chambers being in charge of the Abuja International Trade Fair (AITF).
The yearly Abuja International Trade Fair, which is organised by the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry has grown in content provision, stakeholders participants and visitors that patronize the event on yearly basis.. This year’s fair is scheduled to hold between 21st – 29th September, 2019 with the theme: “Remodelling SME’s Financing: Options and Solutions.”
Great Expectation!
The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) says the forthcoming 2019 Abuja International Trade Fair will feature 45 foreign companies to strengthen businesses, trade and investment opportunities in the country.
The ACCI Director General, Chief Tonia Shoyele, while briefing newsmen on Monday in Abuja said that the foreign companies were expected from India, Bangladesh, Ghana, Mali, Cote d’Voire and Cameroon, among others.
Preparations are in top gear including measures being put in place to provide adequate security personnel which include the Nigerian Police, Army, Anti-Bomb Squad, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), among others.
Dr Johnson Anele, the ACCI Vice president in charge of Commerce and Chairman, Abuja Trade Centre said that it would equally feature trade and investment profile presentations, exhibitions, business matchmaking sessions and products/services presentation.
According to Anele, who is also the Chairman, Organising Committee of the event, “We want to encourage local exhibitors. We cannot be talking about local content when we have an appetite for foreign-made goods.
“We will use the platform to canvass and encourage people to patronise and consume Nigerian products.
“We are also encouraging many foreign exhibitors, we organise on regular basis trade missions for the international companies to establish good economic ties with them to enable them to invest in Nigeria,” he said and urged the stakeholders and related government agencies and parastatals to seize the opportunity to enlighten people on their activities for partnership and immense benefit.
Dr Anele said that the chamber also made provision of adequate infrastructure and facilities including construction of an ultra model convention centre with 7,000 capacity and conducive business atmosphere to host the world-class international trade fair.
The trade fair is designed to provide a neutral and open atmosphere for blue-chip companies, trade groups association, government related agencies and private sector organisations to engage new business partners for investment and trade relations.
The anticipation of over 1500 exhibitors, with an a daily average of 50, 000 visitors, AITF 2019 promises to be more exciting, informative as it will created valuable business interactions and guaranteed Return on Investment (ROI).
