ACCI Announces Agenda for 2026, Calls for Urgent Action on Insecurity, Pledges Support for Journalists.

The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), has emphasized that insecurity poses a direct threat to business growth and national productivity, urging the government to adopt bold and coordinated strategies to address the issue.

Speaking at the 2025 Media Parley on National Security, Ranching Reforms, and Satellite Monitoring, ACCI President, Chief Emeka Obegolu, SAN, PhD, highlighted the devastating impact of insecurity on businesses, including halted expansion plans, suspended projects, and redirected investments.

Has urged the Federal Government to take a decisive action on insecurity through coordinated national strategy to address banditry, kidnapping, and farmer-herder conflicts.

Ranching reforms by transiting to modern livestock management to reduce rural insecurity and promote dairy and meat productivity and deployment of satellite technology to curb illegal mining and environmental degradation.

He announced ACCI’s 2026 Agenda and training programs which include:

– National Livestock Conference and Exhibition
– Renewable Energy Conference and Exhibition
– Circular Economy Conference
– International Railway Conference and Exhibition
– 21st Abuja International Trade Fair
– FARMFATECH Expo
– Abuja BRICS B2B Forum

The Chamber emphasized the importance of collaboration between government, private sector, and media to drive economic growth and prosperity in Nigeria.

ACCI’s Training Programmes:

– Over 60 Local Trainings: Covering topics such as contract risk management, alternative dispute resolution (ADR), and digital economy
– 3 International Trainings: In Canada, Rwanda, and Egypt, focusing on best practices and global standards
– Education Fair: Promoting quality education and skill development
– BEST Talk Series: Focusing on digital economy, SME structure, and policy compliance

The ACCI President expressed gratitude for journalists’ unwavering support in advancing national development through balanced, factual, and responsible reportage. He called for continued collaboration and urged  Journalists to continue shining a light on critical issues, holding leaders accountable, and inspiring timely action

The organization reaffirmed its commitment to empowering journalists with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively report on critical issues affecting Nigeria’s food security and economic development.
