AAAU Governing Council Concludes 2024 with Key Resolutions as New Council Members were inaugurated.

The African Aviation and Aerospace University (AAAU), Abuja, held its second (regular) Council meeting on December 19th, 2024 marking a significant step toward the institution’s continued growth and strategic planning.
The meeting, chaired by the Chairman of the Governing Council, Alhaji Bukar Goni Aji CFR, began by introducing new members of Council representing various statutotry bodies which includes Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Airline Operators of Nigeria, AAAU Senate and also from Congregation.
The session continued with the Chairman delivering a warm welcome to all members, emphasising the importance of collaboration in advancing the university’s vision. This was followed by an insightful presentation by the Registrar, Mustapha Sheikh Abdullahi, who provided updates on the university’s academic achievements, infrastructure development, finances, and staff progression.
The meeting was highly interactive, with members engaging in robust discussions and deliberations on strategies to further enhance the university’s standing in the aviation and aerospace sectors.
One of the key outcomes of the meeting was the establishment of a five-member committee tasked with addressing critical issues and formulating actionable recommendations to propel the university forward. This initiative reflects the council’s commitment to sustainable improvement and innovation in line with AAAU’s mission to become a leader in aviation and aerospace education.
The session concluded on a positive note, with members expressing optimism about the university’s trajectory. The Governing Council remains dedicated to fostering an environment of excellence, ensuring AAAU’s continued contribution to education, research, and industry development in Africa and beyond.
