REMEMBERING A DEAR FRIEND AND PARTNER IN PROGRESS A Tribute by the President, Nigeria Tennis Federation

By Rt. Hon. (Engr.) Victor Ochei, Esq., FNSE

One year after the passing of my dear friend, brother and professional colleague, Engr. Ifedayo Akindoju, I remember him with profound sadness, but also with gratitude for a life of service and friendship.

Ifedayo was not merely my predecessor as President of the Nigeria Tennis Federation; he was a bosom friend, trusted colleague and fellow believer in the transformation of Nigerian tennis. We shared a common vision of repositioning the sport, strengthening its structures and creating an ecosystem where our players, coaches, officials and administrators could thrive.

His commitment to tennis was driven by passion, integrity and a genuine desire to see Nigeria reclaim its place among the leading tennis nations in Africa.

Though he left us too soon, the vision and values we shared remain relevant. As I lead the Federation today, I am mindful of the foundation he helped to build and the responsibility we have to sustain and advance that legacy.

Ifedayo, your friendship was a gift, your service was a legacy, and your memory remains a source of inspiration.

One year on, we remember you, we honour you, and we miss you dearly.

May your gentle soul continue to rest in perfect peace.
