The National Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Alhaja Madinat Adigun-Oladotun, has commended the Ebeneri Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ECCI) for projecting Nigeria’s investment potential at the 2026 Global Digital Economy Conference (GDEC) held in Beijing, China.

Adigun-Oladotun also called on Nigerian businesses to take advantage of international platforms to promote the country’s economic opportunities, attract strategic investments, and forge partnerships that would boost national development.

In a commendation message to the leadership and management of ECCI, the NACCIMA spokesperson praised the Chamber’s participation at the global conference, describing it as a significant step towards enhancing Nigeria’s competitiveness in the international business environment.

She noted that participation in high-level global events involving business leaders, policymakers, investors, and government officials provides opportunities for trade expansion, innovation, investment promotion, and strategic collaborations capable of driving sustainable economic growth.

The conference, themed “Building Digital-Friendly Cities: A Future for All,” brought together technology experts, business executives, financial institutions, researchers, and government representatives from across the world to deliberate on the future of the digital economy. Discussions centred on emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, digital infrastructure, and other innovations shaping global economic transformation.

According to Adigun-Oladotun, the conference also served as an important platform for international collaboration, knowledge exchange, and cross-border partnerships aimed at accelerating digital and economic development.
She lauded ECCI, a member of NACCIMA, for distinguishing itself as one of Nigeria’s representatives at the conference by showcasing the country’s investment opportunities and strengthening its visibility within the global business community.

Speaking on the Chamber’s participation, the President of the Ebeneri Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Anyanwu Sixtus Chimaijem, said the organisation remains committed to serving as a bridge between Nigeria’s local business ecosystem and regional as well as global trade networks.

Adigun-Oladotun urged other Nigerian chambers of commerce and businesses to emulate ECCI by actively participating in international conferences, trade missions, and investment forums, particularly across emerging economic hubs in East Asia.

“Investors across East Asia are increasingly seeking credible business partners and investment destinations. Nigeria must position itself to take advantage of these opportunities. Our businesses should deliberately participate in international conferences and business forums where they can engage with global investors, build strategic relationships, and unlock new markets,” she said.

She further stressed that Nigeria, as one of Africa’s largest markets and a gateway to the continent’s growing economy, must maximise its comparative advantages through innovation and international engagement.

“I commend the Ebeneri Chamber of Commerce and Industry for its outstanding participation at the Global Digital Economy Conference. We are living in a digital age where innovation has become the new driver of economic prosperity,” she added.
