ADC’s Claims Against Tinubu Driven by Frustration Over Failed Coalition — TDF

The Democratic Front (TDF), has” dismissed allegations by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is behind the formation of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), describing the accusation as a reaction to the collapse of the opposition coalition.
In a statement jointly signed by its Chairman, Mallam Danjuma Muhammad, and Secretary, Chief Wale Adedayo, the group said the ADC was attempting to shift attention from what it described as internal failures and divisions within the opposition camp.
TDF stated that it was contradictory for the ADC to accuse President Tinubu of creating a rival political platform after previously alleging that the President was pursuing a one-party state agenda.
According to the group, the accusations by ADC National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, reflected desperation and political frustration following the disintegration of the opposition alliance led by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
The group further argued that the opposition coalition collapsed due to what it called excessive ambition, lack of internal democracy, and power struggles among key political actors, including Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi.
TDF maintained that President Tinubu had no involvement in the internal disputes within the ADC and urged Nigerians to disregard the allegations against the President.
The group also accused opposition figures of focusing more on attacking the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) than strengthening their political structures ahead of future elections.
According to TDF, the failure of the Ibadan Accord among opposition parties and the fragmentation of the coalition were evidence of deep-rooted divisions within the opposition camp.
The organisation urged Nigerians to view the current opposition alliance as a gathering of politicians driven more by personal ambition and access to power than by national interest.
