ABUJA — The Federal Character Commission (FCC) has announced plans to launch a significantly upgraded website on April 21, 2026, as part of activities marking the first three months of the 5th Commission.

The Executive Chairman of the Commission, Hulayat Motunrayo Omidiran, disclosed this on Wednesday during the plenary session of the Commission held at its headquarters in Abuja.

She said the initiative underscores the Commission’s renewed commitment to digital transformation, transparency, and improved public engagement in line with its constitutional mandate.

In statement signed by Ademola Lawrence, the Spokesperson, on
March 25, 2026, Omidiran noted that the new website will incorporate integrated digital portals designed to provide accessible and interactive information on the activities of the Commission, as well as those of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).

She noted that a key feature of the platform is a whistleblowing portal that will enable citizens to report infractions, particularly in recruitment and appointment processes, with the assurance of prompt response.
“This initiative is a major step towards strengthening transparency and accountability in public service. The whistleblowing portal will empower citizens to report irregularities and ensure timely action,” she said.

The FCC boss added that the platform would serve as a central hub for public accountability, helping to curb job racketeering and other forms of malpractice within the system.
“Our goal is to build a user-friendly, accessible, and responsive digital platform that empowers Nigerians with real-time information on government activities and opportunities, while reinforcing trust in public institutions,” she added.

As part of preparations for the milestone, Omidiran also inaugurated a 15-member committee tasked with organizing activities to commemorate the Commission’s three-month anniversary, during which the official unveiling of the website will take place.

The development marks a significant step in the FCC’s broader reform agenda aimed at strengthening equity, transparency, and efficiency in Nigeria’s public service.
