FG Moves Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana to Strategic General Services Office

Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana has been redeployed to the General Services Office (OSGF), from the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development.

In a statement signed by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Esther Walson-Jack, the redeployment takes effect from Wednesday, 19 November 2025.

He was redeployed alongside 15 others.

The General Services Office handles the internal administration of the entire OSGF and liaises with external government agencies for effective coordination and implementation of government policies. The office serves as the main driver and coordinator of the activities of Ministries and Government Agencies, as well as the chief monitor of the implementation of government decisions, policies and programmes.

It provides administrative support services for Committees, Commissions, Tribunals and Panels of Enquiry. It also processes matters such as:

Government approvals for overseas tours (of all types)

Appointments to the headship of statutory bodies

Issues relating to the conditions of service for Political Office Holders

Provision of office accommodation and support services for Political Office Holders

Management of common services for the five offices under the OSGF

Human resource management for Political Appointees of the Presidency

Coordination of policy implementation in MDAs

Budget planning for the OSGF

Management of the affairs of Past Heads of State, Committees and Commissions

Maintenance of the Shehu Shagari Office Complex, among others

The GSO also coordinates the activities of 22 parastatals under the OSGF, including supervising their administration, policy formulation and implementation.
