GOLF FEDERATION RENOMINATES OTUMBA FOR PRESIDENCY SEAT.

The Golf Community is excited with the emergence of Segun Otumba Segun Runsewe as President of the Federation for the second tenure.
The Presidential elections which took place on Saturday at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium Abuja, at the package B in the indoor games complex, had 14 Board members in attendance with Runsewe Segun Otumba, emerging as the International Representative and the Federation’s President.
The choice of Runsewe now concludes the election process that started last month with Bolaji Olajide Iskilu elected as the Technical Representative, and Danjuma Racheal Jalmet as the Athletes Representative in the Federation
Also elected as Vice President and ParaMilitary Representative is Solomon Bgmibhmitauza David with Oyinade Marshi, as Sponsored Member; Ekpon Ohenetega Philip NAPHER-SD – Member; Brig-General Flora Pearse, AFFAN Representative – Member; and Teresnge Nongo, NAWIS Representative – Member.
Others include: Yilmen Taddeus Shinlong, North Central Representative – Member; Ugwoke Chuks Romanus, North East Representative – Member; Momodu Andrew, South South Representative – Member; Ibrahim Babangida Umar, North West Representative – Member; Fetuga Adebisi Hanson, South West Representative – Member; and Mohammed Mongaji Mohammed, North East Representative – Member.
Meanwhile, the Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Honourable Bukola Olopade has congratulated all Board members of each Federation for their resilience and dedication to growing the different sports.
He also acknowledged that their support and initiatives have continued to foster unity across the respective sports Federations and boards.
Olopade expressed confident that the members would bring their wealth of experience to bear on the administering the sport to achieve set goals and objectives.
He said the government expects this new tenure to witness improvement at the grassroot level with a strong commitment of the Federation to work with all relevant stakeholders to achieve lasting success in the sport.
In his remarks, President-elect of the Federation, Otumba Segun Runsewe assured that the Federation would continue with the ongoing initiatives while promising an improvement agenda for the future.
“Today marks a new era for our Federation, with unwavering commitment and dedication, we shall strive to attain unprecedented heights in this field. I am honoured to take on this responsibility again and look forward to leading all of you towards success”, he said.
The President-elect and the Vice President amassed 14 votes each from the Board members to emerge unopposed.
This is as stakeholders are hoping that the entire Board members would eagerly bring their expertise and wealth of experience to drive the Federation to greater heights of glory.
At the formal inauguration of the elected members of the Golf Federation, some stakeholders noted that the unanimous support enjoyed by all the candidates indicates a strong foundation for future growth and development of the Golf Federation.
